Jonathan Merritt is the openly homosexual son of the former Southern Baptist president, James Merritt. James Merritt, who was hired and then fired in 2021 by Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, took aim at conservatives during the 2021 Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting arguing that Critical Race Theory is not a problem in the Church and that Christians shouldn’t concern themselves with fighting against it.
The elder Merritt openly and publicly promotes his homosexual son as “faithful to the gospel.”
Jonathan Merrit, the son, recently published a pro-homosexual book geared toward children titled My Guncle and Me, which chronicles his life with his numerous nieces and nephews. If you don’t know what the word “guncle” means, use your imagination. Essentially, the book glorifies living a homosexual lifestyle and is geared toward indoctrinating children.
In a recent episode of Good Morning America, Merritt explains why he included one scene of in the book of him sitting in church “worshiping God” with his nieces and nephews. He then quotes drag queen, RuPaul, to make his point. It really doesn’t get much stranger than this.
Freedom and life doesn’t come from the cheap applause of men or the acceptance of friends and family, but only from the cross of Christ, to which we must all turn to in repentance and faith for salvation.
