All this has been great, Greg! Really do appreciate every episode, but this one was a ringer! I feel I actually know you now. And what Bobby said about God knowing us, is spot on. The head knowledge is fine but often gets in the way. Yet He knows just how to shake what's in our head, down into our heart. At least that's been my experience.

Greg, such a compelling story! Also, thank you for pointing out what many are completely unaware of regarding the theological bankruptcy of AA, etc. For some reason , we ran across this info on the occult roots of one or both of the founders of AA, and since then, we’ve seen much more corroborating evidence online: https://carm.org/alcoholics-anonymous/alcoholics-anonymous-and-the-occult/

God's sovereign privilege of using whatever means he deems fit, does not necessarily translate into a divine recommendation that we do the same.

Clearly the Lord put AA into my path to salvation. He can do that, but I would never recommend it to anybody else.

Greg, what a wonderful testimony. I sent it off to my adult kids this morning. Two are believers, one is a prodigal. God knows his own. It was so inspirational to read this with hope for my prodigal.

I am sitting here with tears streaming down my face. This is such an amazing transformation of God’s amazing grace!! I want to hear more! I hope you add in more details…like what happened with your girlfriend then, and did you restore with your Uncle?

Hi Barb,

The short answer is, I broke up with the girlfriend over the next few days (she did NOT get it) and yes, I did reconcile with my uncle :)

I have almost no pictures from that time of my life. None from when I was homeless for obvious reasons, but I do have this one that they gave me. This is myself with my aunt and my uncle several months after I got saved. This would have been 1985 sometime.

EDIT. Actually this must be Christmas 1985.

This is so great!! Thx for the visual. It is so fun to see pics of this time. Are your Aunt and Uncle saved?

My uncle died of legionaries disease 20 years ago.

They are not saved. :(

You know the drill. They were happy for whatever got me off that self destructive path, but it's not for them.

She didn't get "it?" You mean your salvation?

I felt a bit like a junky waiting for my Greg fix each day- your story is such a God one filled with Twists and turns- hardship and victory! I love that not one story of redemption is alike so all testimonies are exciting and emotional! Thank you for writing this all out for the reader! God wins!!!

Very similar. I (many others too) left AA after 4 years in it AND more and more concern for and desire for Jesus and His Most Holy Word!✝️📖🙏😊😊❤️ I’d go to church and realize it was Biblically time to ‘step outta that dangerous cult’ and grow in Graced Faith for God! I’ve never regretted that for 1 second. Amen!

And now I have 40+ yrs sober and clean!

Great testimony, Bob! Thanks for sharing that! Do you have anything posted online as a resource for those who don’t see the dangers of AA yet?

No, tho I’ve helped several out of there, especially back in those earlier years. I do, however, gravitate to new comers coming out of booze and drug addictions to stay strong in Christ and His Most Holy Word! AA is a very dangerous cult and not conducive whatsoever with True Christianity. They THINK they do, but they stick together with their steps and books that have little to nothing to do w/Christ!

They need a heavy dose of Scripture adherence that begins w/‘come out ye from among them!’ Again, AA is very ‘all encompassing’ and rather silly. I remember a fella who came every day to meetings with a brown sack lunch and stated that that was his higher power. Folks, get out of AA. The sooner the better! ThanksJesus✝️📖🙏

What an absolutely fascinating story of a miraculous conversion! Which all conversions are! I so enjoyed every part of this story…Greg! My 65 year old son was saved about 7 years ago after a life of dissipation…he by Gods wonderful grace was brought to Christ by much love and prayer! To God be the glory! His early childhood was filled with Gods word and church…he went away from it…but came back. As Gods word says “Train up a child in the way that he should go!” God promises he will return! Those first 5 years are so important!
