Thank you for your truth, that’s love. Our Heavenly Father gave us the hard truth because he loves us.

Jesus was quoting LEVITICUS 19:18 "You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord."

Sticky subject matter which should draw forth some interesting comments. I look forward to them.

Thank you for this. On the front lines in Los Angeles where I see scripture misused constantly. Even in OK my mother attends a woke church. As a new Christian I have had to navigate these waters. I am thankful for solid teaching such as this and the watchful eye of my brothers and sisters in Christ.

I weary of hearing Christians mindlessly misuse this passage of scripture or use it as a club against anyone who doesn’t agree with their views. Thank you for another excellent article.

They take this out of context which is a NO NO from God our Savior.

Loving our neighbor is telling him the truth, that his continuing and unrepentant rebellion against God will deliver him to hell. Our neighbor who loves his rebellion--and denies that it is rebellion--will call that "hate speech." But in reality, it is love speech.
