Tim Keller's Subversive Social Justice Takeover of the Evangelical Church
Well, you know that there is never really anything new under the sun right? Be sure of it; nothing is, not even the concepts fronted by the TGC. The Gospel Coalition banded together as a fellowship of evangelical churches in around 2005. The main idea behind it was to center their resources, communities and influence around gospel-centered ministry. The concerns that brought the evangelical proponents together to form the New Calvinism philosophy together were both social and denominational. Fortunately for themselves and unfortunately for the gospel mission, they became pretty much like the evangelicals of post-World War II. Basically, they set themselves a secular agenda for a gospel-centered movement and erroneously diluted their principal cause. That is just how the devil works; he separates us from our cause with all things that seem attractive here on earth. This time, he may have used Tim Keller to corrupt the Church with social justice.
The Temptation of Power via Social Justice
Just like journalists are naturally predisposed to cynicism and politicians to lying, Christians are predisposed to the social justice agenda. However, in the predisposition to social justice, they separate themselves from the Gospel and delve into secular matters that contravene some of their God’s commandments. For example, even though the bible explicitly forbids homosexuality, these evangelical movements are deeply engrossed in the emancipation of oppressed minorities that they speak for gay rights along with other oppressed groups like black Americans, Hispanics and minority religious groupings. These devout Christians find themselves so engrossed in the social justice agenda that they begin to pursue the political might that can assist them in effecting their opinions. They always end up contravening some of their core Christian values in pursuit of such power. Aren’t the social justice debate and the Trump promises what got him elected into Presidency massively by conservative churches?
That is the folly of it all. Some Christians are allowing strong leftist principles to deride their Christian values. Others have allowed feminist and Marxist theories to form their spiritual agenda at the expense of their biblical teachings. Some of these affected Christian evangelicals that seem to pass Marxist agenda as the gospel truth include Tim Keller, Russell Moore, Al Mohler and Thabiti Anyabwile of The Gospel Coalition. While these men teach their following to adhere to some the teachings of the Reformed Protestant Movement, they also couple that with the fight for social justice and make contrived mercy efforts. How holy can they really get? Well, it gets worse; these false shepherds also have the gall to declare that Christianity should be culturally neutral. How then do they justify their calls for Christianity to engage culture rather than separating from it if it is neutral? Isn’t that a bit confusing to the flock?
It’s a tad bit unconvincing how The Gospel Coalition is masquerading the social justice movement in Evangelicalism, which is historically unorthodox and unbiblical, as the gospel truth. A careful process of critical thinking can tell that it is rooted in secular ideology, namely Marxism, rather than solid biblical standards.
A little bit of introduction to the UN.
The Episcopal Church launched its new millennium goals seven years later after we hit the year 2000. The goals were astoundingly political rather than gospel, and they included:
Eradicating extreme poverty and hunger,
Achieving universal education,
Promoting gender equality,
Combating HIV and AIDs as well as Malaria,
Ensuring Environmental Stability.
Did you know that these are the same millennium goals that the UN set out to achieve on the onset of the millennium? Do you also know that the church would have to be as powerful, politically, as the European church after its bloody crusades? It would have to set up proxies, in the current world order, in the head of state offices such as presidencies. How come the Church just couldn’t set spiritual and biblical goals and instead set out to copy and paste the plans of secular institution with nothing but pure politics forming its basis? How inspired, right?
And this is right where the Evangelical Church in America is heading today.
Final Thoughts
We should all be very careful and wary about the secret agenda of the Gospel Coalition. It isn’t very straight forward with its spiritual and biblical teachings; it is using the good word as a front for some Democratic Party agenda that takes away from the traditional and righteous teachings of the traditional Christian church. Marxism and feminism may have some genuine social concerns, but so do other cultures and other secular movements participating actively in politics. However, we should not allow wolves in sheep’s skins to lead the good flock astray. We should learn to separate secular affairs from the gospel and hat is the good word.
