"The Jesus I Know Would be Dressed in Full Drag," Screeches Lesbian "Pastor" to City Council
Remember when you were a kid, and there was a general respect for God, Christianity, and people who went to church? Remember when blasphemy was whispered in the shadows, uttered by those who at least had the decency to tremble at their own sacrilege? Pride parades, the ultimate demonstration of rebellion against God, were relegated to the darkest corners of Earth, like San Francisco?
Now, it marches into city council chambers, dressed in clerical garb, shaking its fists at God, daring Him to strike. And why wouldn’t it? The modern church, in all its spineless, mealy-mouthed accommodation, has been rolling out the red carpet for this exact moment, inviting it in with a saccharine smile, calling it “love” and “inclusion,” all while congratulating itself on its newfound “relevance.”
What do we get in return? A lesbian preacher preaching a Jesus in drag to the city council.
And not just any Jesus. No, no—the Jesus I know—as Julie Payne-Britton so helpfully informs us—“would be dressed in full drag and serving face, or handsome as a trans man, or wrapped in the garb of a non-binary person who knows one gender is way too small to capture their gloriousness.”
