The Gospel Coalition Author Says Jesus Struggled With Sexuality, Gender, and Identity
One can only wonder how much longer Jesus will wait before unleashing full wrath and judgment on those who continue to blaspheme His name. I wish I could say that I was surprised by such an absurd assertion, but clearly, with the history of The Gospel Coalition and it's many LGBTQ activists it continues to platform, nothing is surprising anymore.
Ed Shaw is one of the partners at Living Out -- a ministry led by Sam Allberry, an admittedly gay Anglican priest -- who was exposed for his implicit and explicit promotion of unbiblical sexual ideology. Shaw's statements and ideas were so gross that even Sam Allberry himself attempted to distance himself from him after it was exposed. Yet, despite Shaw's continued promotion of LGBTQ activism, The Gospel Coalition continues to platform him as though he has anything to offer in the way of Church edification.
In a recent interview with The Gospel Coalition, Shaw implies that Jesus struggled with his sexual identity. He says,
I’m wanting the young people who come to this event to know that Jesus is the one person that they can fully trust with their sexualities, identities and gender because he is both their Creator God and a human being who knows what it is like to grapple with a sexuality, identity and gender. Teenagers today are being presented with such a confusing range of options that they especially need the tender care that Jesus offers all of us as we struggle with what it means to be a human being.
The answer was a response given to a question about Him speaking at a youth event. Let that sink in -- he's going to speak at a youth event sponsored by Liberty Ministries to tell children that God struggled with his gender identity just like you do.
Do we really need to explain this to Christians? Let's be clear -- there is nothing that Jesus ever "grappled" with. Jesus was tempted by Satan, yet Jesus never struggled in any way with temptation. He never once was given to any form of temptation. And further, the temptation was external to Him and didn't proceed from His wicked heart. Why? Because Jesus doesn't have a wicked heart. So the assertion is asinine to compare in any way, shape, or form the depravity of mankind to anything Jesus ever experienced.
Why does The Gospel Coalition continue to platform gay activists? And worse, why do churches continue to platform The Gospel Coalition? They lost the gospel a long time ago.
