Rick Joyner Admits He Knew Todd Bentley Practiced Sexual Immorality
In recent days, Todd Bentley has been accused by a close former associate of sexual immorality, including homosexual activity. It was brought to light that not only did Bentley allegedly continually engage in these immoral behaviors, but that other well-known friends of his were aware of this.
Rick Joyner is a popular and well-known "prophet" in the New Apostolic Reformation who holds a lot of clout in his arena. Joyner played a primary role in restoring Todd Bentley nearly a decade ago after Bentley had been exposed for cheating on his wife which ended in divorce. Now, Joyner is admitting that he was aware of Bentley's continual sexual immorality, yet Joyner places the blame on the man who exposed Bentley rather than Bentley himself.
Consider this, Jesus even gave Jezebel time to repent. Reason is, it takes time to repent of some of these really deep strongholds that grip people's lives. And Todd is dealing with some really deep stuff. I think a lot of it was planted in him in his history. He was basically raised by the Hell's Angels before he met the Lord.
It seems like it would make sense that if "it takes time to repent" as Joyner says, (it doesn't), then perhaps he shouldn't be in ministry until he has repented. The problem is, however, is that he hasn't repented and has no intention of repenting. The charismatic movement is riddled with fallen pastors who continue in open rebellion and unrepentant sin because the charismatic movement is not a movement of God. There is room for open sexual immorality which is why pastors who fall into sin and are ultimately removed from ministry in other denominations always come back as charismatics.
