I am absolutely heartbroken to hear this! I am praying for his family and for his ministry to continue on. He was so important to the church now! Please Father God, raise up many more Pastor Baucham’s in his place give them the same fire that he had! β€οΈπŸ™πŸ»β€οΈ

We had the great privilege of Dr. Voddie Baucham coming to our community and holding a 1 day conference last spring. He is/was dear friends with my pastor, and favored us by preaching our Sunday morning service the next day. I always sit in the first three rows so it was a special gift to listen, up close and personal,, to this big, powerful man, with a wonderful sense of humor, as he shared his faith with an unflinching voice for the gospel. His love for Jesus, for the truth, and for the Church was palpable.

In less than 3 months the Lord, for His sovereign purposes, has taken away 3 trusted, globally recognized and revered, stalwart men of Christ. I don't know what this means exactly, but I don't believe it means nothing. All for His glory.

I read Dr. Bauchum's death announcement which said "he has left the land of the dying and entered the land of the living." I can hear his voice saying those words even now. Well done Voddie, well done.

Robin, who is your pastor? I would like to know. Thank you.

Hi Lee, it is Costi Hinn, Benny Hinn's nephew who was saved out of that terrible prosperity organization about 20 years ago now. He wrote a very good book about his journey called God, Greed, and the (Prosperity) Gospel: How Truth Overwhelms a Life Built on Lies. (We give a copy to every first time visitor to our church.)

As a graduate of the Master's Seminary, Costi was very close to Pastor MacArthur, and also Dr. Voddie Baucham and a number of other well-known, faithful pastors who are grounded in foundational biblical principles. He is an expositional preacher and we have two other outstanding pastors who support us in teaching the fundamentals of faith and managing all manner of ministries we have created.

Our church is growing because there aren't many like it in our area, however we aren't fancy because we are only 3 years old now. Fancy is NOT Costi's goal after his background experience, and he doesn't solicit money from the pulpit. Our congregation is seeking a permanent home as we are meeting in a local Christian high school gymnasium. We are looking so we have a church building fund, but there are never pleas for $$$.

I feel deeply blessed the Lord led me to my church.

Thank you, Robin. I asked because I am looking for an ACTUAL "Bible faithful" church, so rare and difficult to find now in America, in my opinion, and I am willing to relocate. But Arizona? Possibly, but so far away from my lifelong Florida. FYI, I am currently looking at World Outreach Church (Allen Jackson) in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Stonebridge Bible Church (Johnny Ardavanis) in nearby Franklin, Tennessee.

From all I have seen, heard and read I would commend Johnny to you. He seems very solid and his church is growing so rapidly they just added a Saturday night service to the 3 Sunday services. We're planning to visit with friends next month. He has also done several podcasts/interviews with Costi and he teaches/preaches at Masters each summer.

Thank you for the input. I will be in Tennessee checking out both churches for four weeks before returning to Florida. Possible relocation to Tennessee in the spring.

Yes, we don't get many people relocating to AZ from FL, it's a long distance. Costi and Johnny are good friends, and I follow him on Instagram. He's as solid as they come. Praying for you Lee, that the Lord will lead you where He wants to plant you. Blessings and hugs!

His passing was a shock to the system, both personally and in the Body of Christ. Another clarion voice was stilled. In my seventy-five years on this Earth, I have been influenced and enlightened by a handful of teachers who have now gone home, among whom Dr. Baucham was one. Others who have passed on include Chuck Missler, Chuck Smith, R.C. Sproul, Michael Heiser and John MacArthur to name but a few. They may not have agreed on every point of theology--especially eschatology-- but they were united in their belief in and defense of The Gospel. I shall join them in the hereafter sooner or later (sometimes I would prefer sooner) but am heartened by the realization that there are yet many others who remain steadfast in the faith and in the teaching thereof. I include Our Gracious Host among that treasured remnant.

Very eloquently stated, Steve. I think you summed up quite nicely how many of us feel in these challenging days, and you closed with a note of hope. I join you in saluting and being grateful for "our gracious host" Jeff.

Yes. He was a leader among the few, the remnant. I read his book, "Fault Lines." I will now purchase and read his book after that, "The Ever Loving Truth." Another great one, having us too soon, from our perspective.

Skip and I also followed Voddie. I was stunned yesterday hearing the news. I really am at a loss for words. How wonderful and glorious to be in the presence of the Lord πŸ’š

Wow! But we sorrow not as "those who have no hope." He has finished his course, he has fought the good fight, and is now in the Lord's presence where he has "fullness of joy and pleasures for evermore." (Psalm 16:11) By the way Jeff, it's nice to see what you look like finally!

The first time Voddie came on my radar screen was the second Ron Paul campaign in 2012 when he was pastoring in Houston. He wrote this...

He took all sorts of heat for it but stood so firm that all those who were trying to shame and intimidate him into retracting his unsolicited support quickly learned to shut up lest Voddie eloquently and biblically speak as to why every Christian should support Dr Paul. I have had the utmost respect for Voddie ever since.

Thanks for forwarding this Graham. My two grown sons became Ron Paul fans in college and gradually drew my husband and I into listening to what he said and not just blindly believing in the entrenched right side of the aisle. Nice blog post.

Voddie was a wise man. I loved listening to his sermons.

"Having" was obviously meant to be "leaving."y

Voddie's death is a massively heart-wrenching loss. We were very blessed to hear him speak last year (in an SBC church where the pastor wasn't even remotely reformed but he loved Voddie lol). I can only affirm all that Jeff wrote and say that Voddie most certainly helped turn the tide against the onslaught of CRT and Social Justice and he called it out for what it was at it's core - Marxism.

Hi Jeff…nice to see a picture… of who we on this Substack….are interacting with! Loved Voddie! He will be missed big time! Didn’t agree with everything…but he was very clear on the gospel! Thank you for all you do to keep us informed! It’s wonderful to have so many like minded on your sight to share with! You are much appreciated!😊

So we'll said. We've lost some really goodly men. But GOD always is raising up godly men to carry HIS message to current and future generations. Never a void of truth being proclaimed.
