Pastors, Jews Gather Around Golden Statue of Trump to Pray and Bless

Look, I support the president as the president. I want him to govern well. I want righteous laws, sane borders, protection for the unborn, judges who don’t treat the Constitution like Play-Doh, and leaders who do not bow and scrape before the sexual revolution like trained circus animals.

But Donald Trump is not a monument of my Christian faith, and he should not be one for anyone else, either. That is what makes this whole golden Trump statue ordeal so sickening.

At Trump National Doral in Miami, a 22-foot gold-leafed statue called “Don Colossus” was unveiled, depicting Trump with his fist raised after the 2024 assassination attempt. The ceremony was led by Pastor Mark Burns, a longtime Trump ally and member of Pastors for Trump, and included at least two Jewish Rabbis.

Burns called it “one of the greatest honors” of his life to lead the dedication of Trump’s statue “to the world.” And he insisted, “This is not a golden calf,” and said the statue is “not about worship” but “honor,” “resilience, freedom, patriotism, courage,” and “the will to keep fighting for America.”

But bro, when you stand praying in front of a giant golden statue and then have to send out a tweet to clarify, “This is not a golden calf,” the train has already gone off the bridge, burst into flames, and landed in the creek.
