Oklahoma Southern Baptists Are First to Adopt Resolution Calling For Complete Abortion Abolition
Abortion abolitionism -- not to be confused with the sub-Christian sect known as Abolish Human Abortion (AHA) -- is a growing movement within the Bible-believing Church. The generic pro-life movement has run its course in the minds of many gospel-centered Christians who see the movement as compromised as an industry dependent upon the continuation of abortion.
Like Jesse Jackson makes money by "fighting racism," therefore, he has a vested interest in racism continuing, the pro-life movement as we've known it makes its money by "fighting abortion," therefore, is dependent upon the continuation of abortion.
Like the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) itself, most SBC churches and state affiliations are on board with the modern "pro-life" movement and have made little to no effort to actually oppose abortion at its very core.
Abortion is murder, it is a direct attack on the image of God, and finally, one state convention has made an effort to call on the state to completely abolish abortion using any means necessary to do so. The Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma recently adopted the following resolution that calls on the Oklahoma State Legislature to "enact legislation that calls for the immediate end of abortion without exception or compromise."
Oklahoma has long been one of the most involved states in the abolitionist movement, however, it is too early to tell if the state convention will stand by this resolution and actively promote true, biblical justice (not to be confused with the heresy of social justice) and seek the to protect the basic constitutional right to life for all people, including the unborn.
This is a great first step.
