Missouri Legislator Introduces Bill Criminalizing Drag Queen Story Hour in Public Libraries

Drag Queens are indoctrinating and grooming children all over the world. Reformation Charlotte has consistently covered the happenings of the Drag Queen Story Hour phenomenon that is plaguing the country. It should never be shocking that a man who can’t even figure out which sports team he’s supposed to play is also unable to figure out that certain sex acts are illegal. This is why many of these sexual aberrants have found landed legal charges and even criminal convictions of sexual assault and various other sex-related crimes over the span of their lifetimes.

Now, a Missouri legislator is jumping ahead of this garbage and has introduced a bill that would criminalize Drag Queen Story Hours in the state. State Rep. Ben Baker’s Parental Oversight of Public Libraries Act would require public libraries to implement a system of oversight -- a parental review board with elected members -- which would have to approve all of the library's events.

Baker told NBC News, "They've had these drag queen story hours, and that's something that I take objection to and I think a lot of parents do. That's where in a public space, our kids could be exposed to something that’s age-inappropriate. That’s what I’m trying to tackle."

Baker's proposed bill HB 2044 reads in part, "No public library shall receive any state aid under this section if such library 53 allows minors to access age-inappropriate sexual materials in violation of section 182.821," and then leaves it to the parental oversight board to determine what materials are "age-appropriate."

The board shall determine whether any sexual material provided to the public by the public library is age-inappropriate sexual material. To make such determinations, the board shall convene public hearings at which members of the community may present concerns to the board. After receiving comments from the public, the board shall examine individual instances of the questioned sexual material to determine whether it is age-inappropriate sexual material under this section.

The bill then goes on to define the penalty for breaking the law, stating,

Any public library personnel who willfully neglects or refuses to perform any duty imposed on a public library under this section, or who willfully violates any provision of this section, is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction shall be punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars or by imprisonment in the county jail not to exceed one year.

The bill requires libraries to submit annual proof of compliance.
