Matt Redman and Francis Chan Join Catholics for Alpha Conference 2020
The Alpha Conference is hosted by two ecumenical organizations -- Major Change, a charismatic Evangelical organization, and Stone to Flesh, a charismatic Roman Catholic ecumenical organization. The two organizations have practically merged into one big ecumenical mess as you can see from their Facebook page.
As Reformation Charlotte covered recently, the purpose of the groups is to blur the distinction between Roman Catholicism and Evangelicalism and create a new religion devoid of truth and doctrine while sharing in false worship. The entire charismatic movement is becoming enamored with this duplicity.
Francis Chan has long left the reservation of biblical Christianity. A graduate of Master's Seminary, Chan received top-notch Christian education only to become one of the world's premier ecumenical wolves in sheep's clothing.
Chan recently announced that he was leaving America to take his spiritual poison overseas as a "missionary" to Asia. Yet, he will apparently be returning in 2020 to continue his false teachings and cozying up with Roman Catholics.
Chan, and well-known contemporary worship artist, Matt Redman, will be joining Roman Catholics and other ecumenists for Alpha Conference 2020. Alpha is, according to its website, "a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith, typically run over eleven weeks."
Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone is welcome.
The idea of the conference is to bury the distinctions between biblical Christianity and other false churches, particularly the Roman Catholic Church and the New Apostolic Reformation.
It shouldn't be any surprise either that Matt Redman is joining the line-up. Redman is a co-writer of contemporary Christian music with the Roman Catholic, Matt Maher. Maher has said that Catholics and Evangelicals worshiping together "represents Heaven." Of course, being a Roman Catholic who does not have the gospel, it is safe to conclude that Matt Maher -- unless he repents and places his trust in Christ -- will not be there.
Maher and Redman are both popular artists in both Catholic and Evangelical, particularly, Southern Baptist churches and their music can be heard on Sunday mornings in congregations around the globe.
At another Catholic/Evangelical conference earlier this year, Chan told a Roman Catholic in the audience that he believed that Holy Spirit did not want him to evangelize her. This happened around the same time Chan pulled his shoes off and had a bunch of Catholic priests lay hands pray over him.
The fact that this ungodly behavior has become so mainstream and typical in the Evangelical Church is shocking. Protestants used to actually care about the truth and the gospel. It was the whole reason for the Reformation. Rome's gospel is false -- there is no way around it. If you know the gospel, you know that the Catholic Church is devoid of it. And to that end, we should have nothing to do with them except to evangelize them.
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? What agreement has the temple of God with idols?
