There's a good reason that so many of us have departed the once-great McLean Bible, once led by the estimable Lon Solomon, for churches like Cornerstone Chapel in Leesburg, VA, led by Gary Hamrick. So many on the staff there used to serve at McLean, which has reportedly seen a 43% drop in membership under David Platt, especially after his post-George Floyd wokeness emerged.

In case you were wondering exactly where this "McLean Bible Church" is located, its website is pretty explicit. Its campus is sprinkled liberally (pun, but accurate) around Washington, DC, that viper's pit of big government acolytes. Is it any wonder he preaches a "gospel" that pretends to eschew "politics," by which he means "conservative, small government, Constitutionally based government," because that would kill all his fund raising, since it would result in the immediate unemployment of about 90% of his congregation. How could he sustain his current lifestyle on 10% of his contributions? This guy is a putz and a scam artist. He preaches a false "gospel" to a congregation that wants to be congratulated on its "progressive, enlightened" thinking, by which I mean demonic, self-indulgent, sinful and degenerate. "For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths." 2 Timothy 4: 3-4.
