Illinois Will Mandate Public Schools Teach LGBTQ History
Public schools are taking a proverbial dump from where they were just a few years ago. Not that they have been decent in a long, long time -- but until recently, gay propaganda was not a regular requirement.
Illinois Governor JB Pritzker signed House Bill 246 Friday mandating that Illinois public schools now teach LGBTQ history starting next year stipulating that students must study "the roles and contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in the history of this country and this State."
The governor was quoted as saying, "It is my hope that teaching students about the valuable contributions LGBTQ individuals have made throughout history will create a safer environment with fewer incidents of harassment,” Steans said. “LGBTQ children and teenagers will also be able to look to new role models who share life experiences with them."
The Bill will go into effect in July of 2020, giving parents time to pull their children from the public school system and find an alternative.
