It is unfortunate that in today's society, people often rebel against their Creator in almost everything they do and say. Our society has drifted so far from God's glory that it is hard to even consider it. Barring a miraculous intervention by the Holy Spirit, our world is headed for destruction, as the Bible predicts.
For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. —Romans 8:20-21
The most rebellious thing one can do is lift their proverbial middle finger to the Lord by denying the way that He created us and, instead, deceiving ourselves into living in an alternate reality. And in doing so, some are willing to go to extensive lengths to do irreversible damage to their own bodies in order to keep that finger lifted as high as possible.
