Bethel Church Embraces and Affirms "Gay Christianity"
Bethel has been under fire for the last few days by gay advocacy groups for advertising a program in their church called CHANGED which touted itself as a program for homosexuals who wanted to seek fulfillment in living out sexuality the way God designed it -- straight. When I first saw the program, I thought I'd better wait to see how this played out, because I had my doubts that Bethel -- the Church founded by the hypercharismatic Bill Johnson, and known for its false manifestations of signs and wonders attributed to the Holy Spirit -- actually wanted to do something biblical.
I was right. Bethel recently clarified on its Facebook page that God still loves "gay Christians," and if you're happy living as a "gay Christian," so are they.
Of course, it now makes sense. Bethel isn't about the gospel or even the God of the Bible. Bethel is a cult that much like the drug-induced rave, people go there to seek a "high" and an altered state of mind. The truth is that Bethel and Bill Johnson are only sending homosexuals to Hell by giving them this false sense of security. God does not love LGBTQ people -- or any unrepentant sinner. He sends unrepentant sinners to Hell (you can read about that here). Their only hope is Jesus Christ.
