Audience Erupts in Applause as Robert Jeffress Praises Donald Trump Like a Deity From the Pulpit
There is a wing of Evangelicalism that makes me sick to my stomach. It is the progressive left-wing feminist social justice anti-conservative never-Trumpers of The Gospel Coalition and the Southern Baptist Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission. They relentlessly pound against conservatism, rail against capitalism, and spew hate toward Western civility like it's going out of style.
But there is another movement, on the opposite extreme, that's just as bad -- if not worse. It's the far religious right. It's clear that the leaders of this movement have abandoned hope in the gospel of Jesus Christ and exchanged it for hope in mere mortal man. Their obsession with politics is, just like the left, a lack of trust in God's sovereignty.
In the video below, you can see the well-known Southern Baptist pastor and regular visitor on Fox News, Robert Jeffress, praising Donald Trump from the pulpit elevating him almost to deity while speaking of the Constitution of the United States as though it's the word of God.

I have no problem with a pastor being somewhat politically-inclined so long as his politics are informed by and derived from the Scriptures -- thought politics should never be a pastor's primary job. But when you start speaking of a president or a man-made document the way Jeffress does here, you're out of line.
