Another Megachurch Pastor Renounces His Faith As He Caves to LGBTQ Mafia
A few months ago, Reformation Charlotte reported that a megachurch pastor had taken to social media to renounce his faith. Dave Gass, former pastor at Grace Family Fellowship announced on Twitter that he had practically been living a lie.
They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us.
1 John 2:19
With megachurch pastors dropping like flies across the globe, it should come as no surprise that another pastor and author of I Kissed Dating Goodbye, Joshua Harris has renounced his faith right after announcing his divorce. The former pastor of Covenant Life Church in Maryland -- the founding church of Sovereign Grace Ministries -- took to Instagram to make his announcement.
Makes you wonder what else was left out of the announcement.
Harris admits that he's aware that he is doing what the Bible speaks of as apostasy -- or falling away. Yet, he acknowledges that whatever it is he has is not what the Bible calls "faith." Yet, it seems as though his real issue with his faith is that he has been given over to the LGBTQ mafia, as he writes,
But I specifically want to add to this list now: to the LGBTQ+ community, I want to say that I am sorry for the views that I taught in my books and as a pastor regarding sexuality. I regret standing against marriage equality, for not affirming you and your place in the church, and for any ways that my writing and speaking contributed to a culture of exclusion and bigotry. I hope you can forgive me.
Harris says he's lived a life of repentance, but his sorrow is worldly. He's sorry for holding a biblical position in homosexuality.
For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.
2 Corinthians 7:10
If you think the militant LGBTQ mafia isn't powerful, you're wrong. Those given over to the lusts of their hearts are given over to and controlled by forces of darkness. People like Joshua Harris are planted in churches for the sole purpose of deceiving people and leading them away from God.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
Ephesians 6:12
