ACLU Sends Biden Letter Asking Him to Make Public Schools More Dangerous for Students
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is neither American nor stands for actual civil liberties. Instead, it is an activist group dedicated to destroying societal norms that rational people have come to agree upon.
Today, the ACLU sent a letter to Biden calling on him to end federal funding in public schools which would unquestionably -- for normal people -- make schools far more dangerous and increase violence.
"On behalf of the American Civil Liberties Union and the undersigned 151 organizations," the letter reads, "we write to ask you to end the use of Department of Justice federal funding for police in schools." It continues, "Instead, we urge you to issue an executive order directing the Department of Justice to shift its funding away from supporting the use of school-based police and toward the use of much-needed mental health professionals in our schools."
The ACLU argues in it's letter that policing harms children in schools and "criminalizes" them and argues that gay, non-straight, non-white students are most at risk of being "referred to law enforcement" because, well, police are racist and stuff like that.
The letter offers no actual evidence that police actually harm these students -- the case the ACLU tries to make is that certain students of certain identity groups which commit offences at statistically higher rates is somehow the fault of police since they are arrested at higher rates.
No, the problem isn't the poor parenting, the rampant fatherlessness, and the lack of self-control and discipline. The problem is police, the letter foolishly argues, and, of course, removing police from schools and offering them public mental health services will somehow make students with a bent toward violence magically behave better.
